A few hours ago, veteran actor Sanjay Dutt released a statement that he would be taking a break from work to get some medical treatment; he did not, however, say for what condition or ailment.
However, it has now been revealed that Dutt has been diagnosed with stage three lung cancer.
The website Filminformation.com first reported the news late at night and said Dutt would be flying to the United States soon to undergo treatment.
An industry source confirmed the news to Cinestaan.com and said Dutt's condition is quite delicate.
In his statement earlier in the day, Dutt had said that he would be taking a "short break from work" for some medical treatment and there was no cause for worry.

Dutt was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati hospital on Saturday 8 August after he complained of breathlessness. A COVID-19 test was negative. He was kept under observation and discharged two days later.
Dutt has two movies lined up for release online — Sadak 2 and Bhuj: The Pride Of India. Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, Sadak 2 will have its digital premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 28 August. Bhuj is due for release later this year.
