After a lot of murmurs for the last few years, it is now officially confirmed that Kick 2 is indeed going on floors with the same cast as the first film, Kick (2014). Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez will return for Kick 2 as the script has now been locked by producer and director Sajid Nadiadwala.
The news was shared by Sajid's wife Warda Nadiadwala on the occasion of Fernandez’s 35th birthday today.
“Here is your birthday gift that will be remembered forever, Jacqueline Fernandez. Overjoyed to formally announce that Sajid Nadiadwala locked the script [of Kick 2] at 4 am this morning and has written an exceptional role for you! Kick 2 rolling soon. Welcome back!” she wrote on Twitter and shared a video for the occasion.

Kick was Sajid's directorial debut and he will be helming the sequel too. The 2014 movie also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Randeep Hooda in important roles. It is not known yet whether the two actors would be a part of Kick 2 as well.
Khan played Devilal aka Devil in Kick. He was a mysterious character who took the cop, played by Hooda, for a ride. But it is later revealed that Devilal was on a noble mission. Siddiqui played an evil businessman Shiv Kajra.
The makers haven’t revealed the release date as yet.
