Actress Natasha Suri has become the latest from the film industry to test positive for COVID-19.

Suri, who has been quarantined at home now, had gone to Pune earlier this month. She fell sick on her return to Mumbai.

“I had gone to Pune taking all the necessary precautions," Suri told the Press Trust of India news agency. "When I came back, on 3 August, I fell sick. I had fever and a sore throat so I got myself tested and turned out to be COVID-19-positive.”

Suri, a former Miss India World, made her acting debut with the Malayalam film King Liar (2016). Her sister and grandmother have also been tested; their results are awaited.

Suri is awaiting the release of her next film Dangerous (2020), co-starring Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover. The film is scheduled for release on 14 August on the MX Player platform. The actress was gearing up for the promotions but will now have to skip the activities.

“I was looking forward to it because we had worked so hard for the project," Suri said. "There were many things planned, but nothing can be done now.”
