Despite the lockdown being extended in Maharashtra and other states, the theatre chain Mukta A2 Cinemas has revealed its preparation to resume its operations countrywide once it ends.
To ensure the safety of patrons, the theatre chain has enhanced its existing health and public safety measures to ensure that every location is compliant with the enhanced safety and precautions plan for cinemas according to global guidelines.
Upon the first few months of reopening, the chain will follow a standard operating procedure (SOP) which includes prioritization of new standards of hygiene and sanitization. All areas of the theatres will be disinfected from the box office, security area, lobby and restrooms to the food and beverage stands. There will be a daily deep cleaning and sanitization of strategic locations, including auditorium seats.
There will be compulsory body temperature checks for everyone who enters the theatre, including employees, guests and visitors. Masks must be worn by everyone, and physical distancing must be maintained in all queues. Patrons will also be encouraged to book tickets, food, and beverages online with digital transactions to make their visits easier.
In auditoria with Matrix seating, physical distancing will be enforced. All entry and exit points will be according to the rows patrons are seated in and will be monitored to maintain the two-metre space between them.
Theatre employees will maintain high levels of cleanliness, and only medically certified staff will be allowed to work. Furthermore, employees will have to use masks and gloves, and the Aarogya Setu app.
