Aditya Sarpotdar’s web-series The Raikar Case is the story of a family. Whenever you hear such a statement you tend to assume that the drama is a tale of family bonding. Far from it.
This web-series is about the death of a young man named Tarun Naik Raikar. A cop, John Pareira (Neil Bhoopalam), believes Tarun did not end his own life but was murdered, and that his father Yashwant (Atul Kulkarni), a politician, and mother Sakshi (Ashwini Bhave) had something to do with it. Pareira is helped in his investigation by Tarun’s sister Etasha (Parul Gulati).
The trailer for the web-series, which was released recently, has a voice-over by Tarun telling the audience that his family is responsible for his death. A youngster named Eklavya (Lalit Prabhakar), an outsider to the family, also plays a role in the story.
The basic tale of a young man who is against his family, including his parents, is not just novel, but also something that hits you emotionally. The trailer suggests that this part of the narrative has been presented in a subtle manner, and that just makes the web-series even more different.
All the artistes like Kulkarni, Bhave, Bhoopalam and Prabhakar appear to be in good form. The Raikar Case, which is produced by Bodhi Tree Multimedia, will be streamed on Voot from 9 April. Watch the trailer here.
