Pop music superstar Lady Gaga has announced a global musical gig, One World: Together At Home, bringing together some of the biggest names in world pop culture, including Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, to raise money for people struggling through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The virtual event will be broadcast online, since everyone is in lockdown, on 18 April. It will be broadcast across multiple television networks, including ABC, NBC, CBS and BBC.
The event will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert, in association with the charity foundation, Global Citizen.
The line-up for the event includes Khan and Chopra Jonas, who last worked together in Farhan Akhtar's Don 2 (2011).
The line-up for the event includes some formidable names like Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, John Legend, Billie Eilish, Alanis Morissette, Andrea Bocelli, Stevie Wonder, the band Coldplay and ex-footballer David Beckham.
The charity foundation has already raised an estimated $35 million in solidarity for health-care workers and social workers at the frontline of the ongoing global pandemic. In addition to these, Shah Rukh Khan has donated through his holding companies, as well as his personal office space, to help in the battle against the pandemic in India.
