Bamfaad trailer: Love stands at the crossroads of violence in this searing saga

Directed by Ranjan Chandel, the Zee5 original film marks the debut of Aditya Rawal, alongside Shalini Pandey.

A small town romance. A sharp, brave girl. A brash young man who wants to be a don. A loyal friend. Ranjan Chandel's trailer for Bamfaad has all the elements of a typical small-town romance from Hindi cinema. The Zee5 original film also marks the debut of Aditya Rawal, the son of veteran actor Paresh Rawal. The film also features Shalini Pandey, Vijay Varma, Jatin Sarna, and is set to stream on the Zee5 OTT platform from 10 April onwards.

The trailer is a shortened and sharpened version of the film, with Aditya playing Nasir Jamal aka Naate, the brash gully boy from the streets of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, who dreams beyond his reach. He falls for Neelam (Shalini Pandey) at first sight. As is expected of any good Hindi romance, Neelam has her own dangerous suitor, Jigar Faredi (Vijay Varma), who is an up-and-coming ganglord with political clout. Cue in the confrontation between Nasir and Jigar, and you have a proper commercial film.

The trailer has its moments, with Aditya looking raw and uninhibited in his anger, while Varma plays the ice cool but deadly Jigar. While it has some moments of punchy dialogues, it remains to be seen if the film rises beyond the stereotypical plot. The cast offers promise with Sarna and Varma joining the two fresh faces.

While Pandey has already made a mark with Arjun Reddy (2017), Aditya will mark his debut with this film.

Bamfaad is set to stream on the Zee5 OTT platform from 10 April onwards.
