Actor Shah Rukh Khan paid tribute to Irrfan Khan as one of the "greatest actors of our time." Irrfan passed away in Mumbai at the age of 53 on Tuesday morning.
As condolences poured in from across the world, Shah Rukh shared a tweet with a tender message describing Irrfan's famed íntoxicating look.
My friend...inspiration & the greatest actor of our times. Allah bless your soul Irrfan bhai...will miss you as much as cherish the fact that you were part of our lives.

While they were often part of very different films, Priyadarshan's Billu (2009) marked the first collaboration between the two actors. The film went on to earn great critical acclaim.
Irrfan's demise has been mourned across the industry as a moment of shock and tragedy. The actor's other co-star from Billu, Lara Dutta Bhupathi, also offered her condolences online.

The film's director Priyadarshan also put up a rare tweet in homage to his actor.

Irrfan was last seen in Homi Adajania's Angrezi Medium (2020). The film remains his last film released on screen.
