Paatal Lok teaser: A montage of gruesome violence that will unsettle you

After teasing the audience with an intriguing title announcement video, makers of the upcoming neo-noir web-series Paatal Lok have released the first official teaser.

With someone's throat being slashed and someone else being bashed with a hammer, the teaser is a montage of some gruesomely violent visuals accompanied by ominous background music.

The use of red in the teaser, a colour commonly associated with danger, war, extreme passion and lust for power, signifies that Paatal Lok deals with all of these emotions in their raw form.

Paatal Lok features Neeraj Kabi, Gul Panag and Jaideep Ahlawat in the leading roles. Though we don't see any of them in the teaser, we hear Ahlawat's voice doing a countdown. It seems this is the countdown before the anchor goes on air to deliver the news. Interestingly, in an earlier teaser, it was revealed that the web-series will also deal with 'yellow journalism' and fake news peddled by journalists with an agenda.

The makers have also revealed that the trailer for Paatal Lok will be uploaded online on 5 May. Amazon Prime will start streaming the show on 15 May. The web-series has been written by Sudip Sharma. Anushka Sharma had collaborated with him earlier on NH10 (2015).
