Music might just be the art to soothe people during the over-a-month-long lockdown. Now actor Ajay Devgn has released a song, 'Thahar Ja', featuring himself spreading the message of calm during the lockdown. The actor is the latest to use music to send out a message in this period after Salman Khan released a song last week.
'Thahar Ja', composed and sung by Mehul Vyas, is a request to people to calm down and take the lockdown as a break from the world. With lyrics by Anil Verma, the song tries to see the silver lining of rest and recovery that comes with the lockdown. Describing the pandemic as a product of the rat race for supremacy, the song hits an emotional chord.
While the music is simple, it is the lyrics that truly captures the sense of the lockdown. The actor shared the link to the song on Twitter, remarking, 'Pause. Reflect. Pray. We will weather this storm together.'

Devgn's son, Yug, makes a cameo appearance towards the end of the song as he jumps into his father's lap as the latter, tired, drifts off to sleep. It is a sweet addition to an emotional number.
The lockdown across the country, which was imposed on 24 March for three weeks, has since been extended till 3 May, leaving several daily-wage workers and labourers at risk of extreme poverty and starvation. Several members of the film industry have come forward to donate and help these workers cope with the restrictions placed to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Besides Devgn and Salman Khan, B Praak has come out with a revised rendition of 'Teri Mitti' from the Akshay Kumar-starrer, Kesari (2019). The new song is dedicated to frontline medical workers.
Recently, it was confirmed that Devgn would return in a sequel to Raj Kumar Gupta's Raid (2018). This is in addition to a long list of films he has already signed up for. But for now, the actor-producer can relax and recharge his batteries.
