Anushka Sharma has released the title of her upcoming Amazon Prime Video web-series. The web-series, featuring a host of artistes like Neeraj Kabi, Gul Panag, Swastika Mukherjee and Jaideep Ahlawat, will be titled Paatal Lok. The teaser captured the ominous sense of the neo-noir series that will be premiered on the OTT platform on 15 May.
Like the teaser before, the title announcement was preceded by a voiceover that described the nature of the place called Paatal Lok. The voice says, 'The rules of Paatal Lok are different. It is a dark, fiery world much like our own. Where demons walk around wearing the skins of humans.'
Incidentally, while the voiceover seems to be describing a supernatural world, the animated visuals transpose it to the reality of our own with newscasters taking on the role of the warring demons while justice remains blind to it all.
The teaser implies that the neo-noir series will compare the mythology of Swarga (Heaven), Narka (Hell) and Paatal Lok (Purgatory) with the existing pillars of democracy.
Paatal Lok is written by Sudip Sharma and will mark Anushka Sharma's first production for Amazon Prime.
