Artistes from the Bengali film industry have come together for 'Ei Bangla Aamar Hashbe Abar', a music video promoting the recovery of West Bengal from the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2 disease) pandemic. Conceptualized by Raj Chakraborty, the song has been composed by Arindom while Prasen has written the lyrics. Shashwat Singh and Nikhita Gandhi have lent their voices to the track.
Actors Parambrata Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta. Abir Chatterjee, Ritwick Chakraborty, Ankush Hazra, Bonny Sengupta and Anirban Bhattacharya and actresses Srabanti Chatterjee, Paoli Dam, Sayantika Banerjee, Subhasree Ganguly and Nusrat Jahan have all shot their portions in their respective homes.
Along with the artistes lip-syncing to the lyrics, the video has vibrant clips of Kolkata, bringing alive the essence of the City of Joy. There are also images of people and the Kolkata police taking necessary preventive measures against the contagious virus.
Along with spreading optimism about a better day in the future, the song asks the people of Bengal to follow all directives in the fight against COVID-19. The fast-paced and urbane composition adds to the positive vibe of the number.
At the end of the video, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee make an appearance to request people to stay positive during these tough times. While the song evidently promotes the government’s initiatives in fighting COVID-19, the state's health-care system is reported to be lagging in fighting the pandemic.
