Vidula Baviskar and Shubham Tare will make their debut in the upcoming Marathi film, Jiddari. Produced by Vaijanta Production, the film will also mark the directorial debut of Amol Abasaheb Shinde Hoalkar.

The film's poster shows Baviskar and Tare sitting with their back to each other. It is reminiscent of the iconic pose between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)

The teaser, which was recently out, doesn’t reveal the story of the film, but it does give a fairly good idea that it is a love story based in a village in Maharashtra. The video only focuses on a holy fire lit during a religious ceremony. One can see a large group of people standing around it in a well-captured shot.

After the astounding success of Sairat (2016), there has been a string of romantic dramas based on a similar theme about a rich girl and a not-so-rich guy based in a village. We hope that is not the case here as well.

The release date of Jiddari will be announced later due to the uncertainty regarding the re-opening of theatres because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
