In these times of a pandemic and countrywide lockdown, a lot of filmmaking contests have come up to encourage budding filmmakers and, at the same time, create value in the time spent at home.

Now, well-known casting director Mukesh Chhabra has collaborated with Montoo Bassi, Maulik Bhagat and Neetu M Jain to come up with a movie-making contest.

Called ‘India Let’s Make A Film’, the contest requires participants to make a film that should not exceed one minute in duration. The judges for the competition constitute big names from the film industry like producer Sajid Nadiadwala, producer-director Aanand L Rai, producer Ekta Kapoor, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Dinesh Vijan.

The contest was introduced by filmmaker and producer Karan Johar on Twitter. He tweeted: 'Glad to present this amazing initiative by my friends #IndiaLetsMakeAFilm. Make one-minute inspiring film on your mobile while staying home.' According to the tweet, it is compulsory to stay at home and follow all the lockdown rules while making this film.

The contestants can make a film on one of six topics — the good side of the quarantine, hum honge kamyaab (we shall overcome), interesting or innovative lockdown stories, let’s follow the safety norms, help, care and concern during lockdown, and thank you, our frontline warriors.

Last month, filmmaker Onir also came up with a similar filmmaking contest.
