Kajol does not even realize how amazing she is, says Tribhanga director Renuka Shahane

Actress Renuka Shahane is all set to present her second directorial venture, Tribhanga, which is her first Hindi film as director. It stars Kajol, Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar. During a conversation with Cinestaan.com, Shahane was full of praise for Kajol and said the actress is unaware about her own prowess.

“She is such a delight to work with,” said Shahane. “Every time I see her I feel she herself doesn’t know how talented she is. She is such a spontaneous actor. It’s in her blood. She does not even realize that she is so amazing. She is a better actor than the roles she has been offered [till now],” she said. 

The actress-filmmaker added that it is high time people wrote stories with Kajol in mind. "She has the capability and talent. Things are changing luckily, and I am hopeful of seeing her in a lot of different things. It’s a delight to work with her and to see her on screen. I used to see her daily during editing and I used to enjoy it,” she said.

During the entire shoot, Shahane was also amazed by Kajol’s discipline. “She was the biggest star on our set. If a star accepts or behaves in a way on the sets which is conducive to very good shooting, then it percolates down to the bottom. Everybody was happy to come on our sets,” said Shahane. 

Tribhanga is produced by Siddharth P Malhotra and will be released directly on Netflix.
