Aadhaar teaser: Vineet Kumar Singh leads this funny take on India's Aadhaar identity

Directed by Suman Ghosh, the film will release in theatres on 6 December.

The teaser for Suman Ghosh's next, Aadhaar, seems to be yet another humorous black satire that smirks at the ongoings of the Indian society.

Set around the implications of the new Aadhaar card identity in India, the film features Vineet Kumar Singh, Saurabh Shukla, and Raghubir Yadav in key roles. The film is set to have its world premiere at the 24th Busan International Film Festival.

The teaser is set during the early execution of the Aadhaar card unique identity program across India. Vineet Kumar Singh plays Pharsua, the first man in his village to enroll for the identity card. The teaser begins with the first announcement of the program in the village, and soon cuts to Singh's Pharsua posing for the picture.

Considering that the film arrives from the stables of Drishyam Films, which also backed the National award-winning Newton (2017), the teaser has the similar style of satirical humour. This is particularly evident in the line when Pharsua poses for the Aadhaar card photograph, and Saurabh Shukla government official tells him not to smile or be happy.

The film is set to have its world premiere at the 24th Busan International Film Festival, which begins on 3 October, and concludes on 12 October.

Backed by Drishyam Films and Jio Cinemas, Aadhaar will release in theatres across India on 6 December.
