Sunny Singh Nijjar and Sonnalli Seygall will return to play 'mismatched lovers' in their next feature, Jai Mummy Di. The directorial debut of writer Navjot Gulati, the film will also feature Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon as the warring mothers in the title. The film also marks the return of the two leads who were last seen together in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015).

While the film was initially scheduled to release on 12 July, the latest motion poster of the film has a new release date of 17 January 2020.
The motion poster captures the conflict between the young couple in love, and the force of nature that is their mothers. It shows two hands coming together to form a heart, only to be stopped by two other hands pulling them back.

The statement from the producers described the film as a 'light hearted comedy' around the conflict between mothers that creates a rift between the couple, and their families.
Jai Mummy Di is presented by T-Series, and is produced by director Luv Ranjan's Luv Films.
