P Se Pyaar F Se Faraar trailer: Yet another love story revolving around caste and honour

The title of director Manoj Tiwari’s P Se Pyaar F Se Faraar is comic, witty or quirky in nature. The same was the case with the film’s poster. But the trailer shows that the film is serious and hard-hitting in nature.
The story takes place in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh and it revolves around Sooraj Mali (Bhavesh Kumar) and Meena (Anuja Jha) who study in the same college. The two fall in love but the young man stays on the other side of Yamuna river, which means he is from a lower caste.
He sells sugarcane juice in his free time. Therefore, Meena’s family, including her father (Kumud Mishra) and brother (Jimmy Shergill), will do everything possible to keep her away from Sooraj.
The trailer also claims that honour killings and caste discrimination are on a rampage in Mathura. It is shown to be so rigid that even when Sooraj represents India as an athlete, he is still identified by his caste.
Last week, Tiwari had said in an official statement that if you liked Heropanti (2014), Sairat (2016) and Dhadak (2018), you will be stunned by this film. The problem, at least going by the trailer, is that you are constantly reminded of the aforementioned films and few others dealing with the same issue. In other words, this theme is done to death.
On top of that, the trailer lacks proper flow and is too loud and tacky at times. Bhavesh Kumar doesn’t fit into the character because of lack of acting chops. Kumud Mishra appears to be the best of the lot. The film also stars Sanjay Mishra, Girish Kulkarni, Zakir Hussain and Bijendra Kala.
P Se Pyaar F Se Faraar is due to be released on 18 October. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
