The international jury will be headed by Palestinian-Dutch filmmaker Hany Abu-Hassad, while the India Gold competition jury will be headed by film producer and cultural commentator Franklin Leonard.

Academy award-nominated Palestinian-Dutch filmmaker Hany Abu-Assad has been named as the head of the International jury for the upcoming 21st Mumbai Film Festival. The jury also includes Tamil filmmaker Vetrimaaran, director Zoya Akhtar, executive director of the Telluride Film Festival Julie Huntsinger and artistic director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Mark Adams.

The festival released the latest list of its juries online today. These include the jury for the India Gold competition section and the international section.

The Spotlight section will see films like Tanuja Chandra's Aunty Sudha Aunty Radha, Arati Kadav's Cargo, Seema Pahwa's Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi, Kamal Swaroop's Samudra Manthan (The Churning Of The Ocean) and Gautam Ghose's Raahgir (The Wayfarers) competing for the top honours.

The 21st Mumbai International FIlm Festival will see several festival favourites like Martin Scorsese's The Irishman, Brad Pitt-starrer Ad Astra, Scott Z Burns's The Report, Ken Loach's Sorry We Missed You join the international selections.
Franklin Leonard, founder of The Black List, a company that surveys the best unproduced screenplays annually, will lead the India Gold jury. He will also hold a masterclass at the festival.

Fernando Meirelles, director of City Of God (2002) will also be honoured at the festival with an Excellence in Cinema award. The filmmaker will also hold a masterclass at the festival.

Actress Deepti Naval will also be presented with an Excellence In Cinema award for her contribution to cinema at the film festival.

The latest edition of the festival sees Deepika Padukone take over as the chair person, with Anupama Chopra serving as festival director alongside artistic director, Smriti Kiran.
The festival will be held from 17 to 24 October.
