Megastar Chiranjeevi will soon star in the Telugu remake of recent Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer (2019), its director Prithviraj Sukumaran revealed on Sunday, 29 September.
Speaking at the pre-release event of Syeraa Narasimha Reddy in Kerala, Prithviraj said that Chiranjeevi has acquired the Telugu rights of his film, Lucifer, which starred Mohanlal in the lead.
Lucifer marked the directorial debut of Prithviraj, who also played a cameo in the film which went on to become the first Rs200 crore grosser in Malayalam cinema.
Speaking at the event, Prithviraj said, according to a report by CinemaExpress.com: "I salute Ram Charan for mounting a project on this scale with a legend like you. Everything looks top notch. I personally do not remember you looking more stylish in any other film. You look so good in this."
Prithviraj further revealed that Chiranjeevi had offered him a role in Syeraa Narasimha Reddy, which is scheduled for release on 2 October.
“After seeing the footage, I feel sad because Chiranjeevi sir had called me to act in it, but I was caught up with other projects. Now I wish I was part of it,” he said.
Directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Ram Charan on a whopping budget of Rs275 crore, the period film has music by Amit Trivedi.
