Saand Ki Aankh song ‘Udta Teetar’: Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar gear up for sharpshooting training

It's a Sunidhi Chauhan song all the way.

The trailer of Saand Ki Aankh showed a glimpse of the song ‘Udta Teetar', which appeared impressive. We can say the same even after going through the whole song now.

The song shows Taapse Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar’s characters, Prakashi and Chandro Tomar, learning rifle shooting and helping their teenage daughters learn as well. It’s an inspiring song, where apart from learning, there is also some excitement and fun as they follow the instructions of their coach, played by Vineet Kumar Singh.

The song reminds us of the title song of Dangal (2016) where Aamir Khan's Mahavir Phogat is training his two daughters to compete as wrestlers. But we are not implying that it’s copied from there.

‘Udta Teetar’ comes alive because of the contribution of singer Sunidhi Chauhan. In fact, we can say it is her song all the way. She brings in the right energy and shows her class in hitting different pitches. Jyoti Nooran has handled the folk part of the song by presenting some effortless, rustic vocals.

Raj Shekhar has written a rebellious poetry in the form of the lyrics. Although the song takes place in a rural village with rural characters, Vishal Mishra has experimented with western, contemporary music. The fusion works well here.

Pannu and Pednekar are fine performers, but it is difficult to accept them as senior citizens in this film. They play characters inspired by real-life shooting champions Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar.

Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Saand Ki Aankh will be releasing during Diwali on 25 October. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
