The song 'Trippy Lage' from Kamaleswar Mukherjee’s Password features Dev Adhikari, Rukmini Maitra and Adrit Roy. Composed by Savvy Gupta, the song is set on a rave party that DCDD Rohit Das Gupta, played by Adhikari, targets to unravel a drug racket.
Rendered by Nikita Gandhi and Shashwat Singh, 'Trippy Lage' has been written by Riddhi Barua. The lyrics are simple and describe the trance atmosphere of the party. In the video, Maitra and Roy can be seen indulging into narcotics and dancing to the tunes of the song in languor.
Das Gupta has got wind of this place and he arrives at the party with his team, instructing them to not shoot without his command. As he enters, he can be seen gunning down the security people on his way to the party.
The song is shot well with an edgy production design. Maitra fits into her avatar as she dances dizzy with the song. Gupta’s composition reminds of the popular song 'Manali Trance' from The Shaukeens (2014).
At the end of the song, Maitra and Roy can been trapped in Das Gupta’s hold. While Roy doesn’t listen to Das Gupta’s instruction, the latter shoots him down, despite Maitra’s plea of not shooting him.
Earlier, in the trailer, Maitra can be seen detained by Das Gupta, who perhaps, later starts working as an undercover agent for the police to help foil the cybercrime racket on which the plot of Password is based.
Password also features Parambrata Chatterjee and Paoli Dam in important roles. It is slated for release on 2 October. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
