It's a big day for Netflix as the streaming platform nabbed three International Emmy awards with their first foray into the online space in India. Their first original Indian web-series, Sacred Games, is up for Best Drama Series, while their anthology film, Lust Stories (2018) and actress Radhika Apte have also picked up nominations.

The second season of Sacred Games, directed by Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan, is nominated with international shows 1 Contra Todos, Bad Banks and McMafia. Incidentally, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui also has acted in two episodes of the British series. Showrunner Vikramaditya Motwane congratulated the whole team on the honour.

Apte is nominated alongside Jenna Coleman, Marjorie Estiano, Marina Gera for her performance in Anurag Kashyap's short film from Lust Stories (2018). The actress has become, by default, the poster girl for the streaming platform in India. Naturally, Netflix India is over the moon about this.

The Netflix anthology, Lust Stories, directed by Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar, also goes up against Safe Harbour, Se Eu Fechar Os Olhos Agora (If I Close My Eyes Now), and Trezor, in the Best TV Movie/Mini-Series category.

The winners will be announced on 25 November at a gala for the 47th edition of the International Emmy awards. Last year, Amazon Prime Video's Inside Edge was nominated for Best Drama Series with the shows 1 Contra Todos, Urban Myths, and Money Heist. The latter won the trophy.
