Meet Ayushmann Khurrana’s love interest in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan in this lovely animation video

The makers of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan have released an animation video to reveal the film’s cast, characters and the basic plot.  

Gajraj Rao plays Shankar Tripathi while Neena Gupta plays his wife Sunaina Tripathi. Their son Aman Tripathi, played by Jitendra Kumar, is all set to marry Kusum played by Pankhuri Awasthy. However, the twist in the tale is that Aman falls in love with Kartik Singh, who is played by none other than Ayushmann Khurrana. 

The entire scenario is put forth through a volleyball match played by the family members. Aman is unable to concentrate on the game since he is constantly thinking about Kartik. Being from a traditional family, his parents obviously raise eyebrows at this. 

It is one of the cutest videos to have been made by a film. The high quality animation is done by Invisible Rabbit. They had also created the animation video through which the makers announced the film earlier this year.

Ever since the film was announced, there was this curiosity to know who plays Khurrana’s love interest. Actor Jitendra Kumar has appeared in films like A Wednesday (2008), where he played a taxi driver, Shuruaat Ka Interval (2014) and Gone Kesh (2019).

But he is known the most for his stints with the digital channel The Viral Fever (TVF) in their shows like TVF Pitchers, TVF Bachelors, TVF Tripling, etc. He has also done some short films. 

Going by the two animation videos, it seems that the makers have handled the taboo subject of homosexuality in a small north Indian town in a light-hearted manner. This is yet another film starring Khurrana that is giving us positive vibes from its promotional material so far. 

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is directed by Hitesh Kewalya who was the writer on Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017). Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Films has carried on the responsibility of the production like the first film.
