Syeraa Narasimha Reddy trailer: Chiranjeevi-starrer promises to tell rousing story of a rebel

A monk, a warrior or a martyr? The highly anticipated trailer of the upcoming magnum opus Syeraa Narasimha Reddy has arrived, and the visuals promise that audiences can gear up to watch the rousing story of a rebel, played by the 64-year-old Chiranjeevi.

The story is set in the 18th century and we are introduced to Narasimha Reddy as a hero who can meditate underwater and who has incredible athletic ability. We also get a glimpse of a high-voltage action sequence featuring Chiranjeevi.

Going by the visuals, the film promises to present action like never seen before in Chiranjeevi’s long and illustrious career. The film's makers seem to have taken a no-holds-barred approach to the depiction of violence on screen. Ironically, the film is slated for release on Gandhi Jayanti.

The three-minute trailer also introduces us to all the important characters in the film, from Amitabh Bachchan to Vijay Sethupathi and Tamannaah Bhatia to Nayanthara; it can safely be assumed that each character has a pivotal part to play.

It is quite evident from the trailer that the action choreography is going to be talked about a lot when the film is released. On signing the project, Chiranjeevi had said in a statement that it was his long-held desire to play a historic character. 

“It has always been my dream to play Bhagat Singh. Despite being offered the role back then, I couldn’t play it for several reasons and it was later played by several of my counterparts. It was played by several actors across languages. I regret missing out on an opportunity to play the role because I don’t think anyone wants to make a film on him today,” Chiranjeevi said.

Produced by Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan on a whopping budget of Rs150 crore, the film has music by Amit Trivedi.
