The characters of Rajkummar Rao, Boman Irani and Paresh Rawal hatch a plan to turn India's middle-aged men into bedroom superheroes in this Mikhil Musale comedy.

The trailer for Made In China (2019) captures the humour, insecurity, and the nexus around the business of Chinese medicines in the country. Featuring Paresh Rawal, Rajkummar Rao, Sumeet Vyas, Boman Irani and Gajraj Rao, the film is set to release in theatres on the Diwali weekend.

From the first shot, the trailer sets up the promise of eventual disappointment for Raghu. The sight of a grizzled Paresh Rawal, playing a smart businessman, advising the novice Raghu (Rajkummar Rao) on the 'key' to becoming an entrepreneur.

'The customer is an idiot," Rawal says, "Once you find the key to his needs, you are an entrepreneur."

Having tried and failed at several things, Raghu ends up in China where he stumbles on to the tiger penis soup as an aphrodisiac. Soon, a new market opens up to him.

To get further, he ropes in the sexologist, Dr Vardhi (Boman Irani), to become the face of his new miracle drug.

The trailer's hilarity and awkward humour feels like a red herring looking back at Paresh Rawal's character. Talking about selling the product, he says, "The product is your film. Vardhi is your hero. Sell the hero, not the film." If that is not self-referential of the film industry, nothing else is.

Mouni Roy plays the more glamorous wife of Rajkummar Rao's Raghu, who gives him as much of an inferiority complex regarding his prowess in bed, and sets up the story.

The film is directed by Mikhil Musale, and is set to release on Diwali. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
