Box office: Dream Girl crosses Rs50 crore in four days, Chhichhore headed for Rs100 crore mark


Ayushmann Khurrana now has six hits in a row at the box office.

Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Dream Girl passed the first Monday test successfully. Directed by debutant Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film made Rs7.25 crore nett on Monday, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com. 

The film has had a very successful weekend as it made Rs43.50 crore nett in the three days. The comedy has received a positive response from the audience and critics alike. Hence, its high numbers on the first Monday don’t come as a surprise. 

As per trade sources, Dream Girl is made at a budget of around Rs30 crore. The grand total of the film currently stands at an impressive Rs50.25 crore nett. The film has already become Ayushmann’s sixth success in a row after Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), Andhadhun (2018), Badhaai Ho (2018) and Article 15 (2019).  

Meanwhile, director Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore succeeded in earning a good number in its second weekend despite the release of Dream Girl. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, the film made Rs3.75 crore nett on its second Monday yesterday. It is on its way to reach the Rs100 crore mark, having made Rs95.09 crore nett so far. 

Last Friday also saw the release of Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chadha starrer Section 375, directed by Ajay Bahl. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film collected Rs8.04 crore nett in its first weekend.
