The news about Ajay Devgn signing Abhishek Bachchan for his next production was out last month. It is now learnt that the film is titled The Big Bull and it went on floors yesterday. Apart from Ajay Devgn Films, the movie is also co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Anand Pandit.

The news was shared by Devgn on his official Twitter handle. It’s the picture of the clapperboard which is kept around the area where they did a puja. The film marks the directorial debut of writer Kookie Gulati.

As per a report in the daily tabloid Mumbai Mirror last month, The Big Bull is a period saga based on some financial developments in India. This coupled by the title gives a feeling that the film might be based on Mumbai’s share market. Hansal Mehta is making a web-series titled Scam 1992 based on the real case of Harshad Mehta who was involved in a number of financial frauds in the 1990s.

The report also mentioned that the film also stars Ileana D’Cruz but not opposite Bachchan. However, Devgn’s tweet does not mention her and hence her casting is not officially confirmed.

Bachchan also shared the title poster of the film from his Twitter handle which hints that the actor will be given the moniker in the film.

The Big Bull marks the acting debut of model Lekha Prajapati. She revealed this on her Twitter profile. "Taking my first step into Hindi Film Industry! I entered Mumbai with a Dream in my eyes, and today is the day when I see it literally happening! Kookie Gulati sir thank you for believing in me," she said.

Bachchan and Devgn have teamed up in the past as co-stars in Zameen (2003) and Bol Bachchan (2012). Both films were directed by Rohit Shetty.
