The project, rumoured to be titled Karnan, was announced a long ago but there’s been no update for months now. However, latest reports suggest that the film will finally go on the floors from December.

Director Mari Selvaraj, who made an impactful debut with his maiden film Pariyerum Perumal (2018), is all set to join hands with Dhanush for his second directorial venture.

The project, rumoured to be titled Karnan, was announced a long ago but there’s been no update for months now. However, latest reports suggest that the film will finally go on the floors from December.

To be bankrolled by Kalaippuli S Thanu, the film also stars Malayalam actress Rajisha Vijayan as the leading lady. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised.

The director, talking about the project, recently told CinemaExpress.com: "Dhanush gave me the chance to work with him after watching Pariyerum Perumal. Just like my first film, this one will also address an important issue."

When the project was announced, Dhanush took to Twitter to share that he’s really excited to work with a talent like Mari.

Upon completing his portion in Karthik Subbaraj’s upcoming project, which is currently on floors in London, Dhanush is expected to join the sets of Mari’s film which will be completed by February or March 2020.

In Vetrimaaran’s Asuran, Dhanush plays a daily wage laborer. He will be seen in dual roles in this project, which is based on the Tamil novel, Vekkai. The actor also has a project titled Pattas with director Durai Senthil Kumar. Interestingly, he again plays dual roles in this project, which is gearing up for Diwali release.
