Well-known Malayalam actor Joju George, who was recently seen in Aashiq Abu’s Virus (2019), has been roped for a crucial role in Dhanush’s upcoming Tamil project with Karthik Subbaraj. Dubbed D40, the film recently went on the floors in London, England and stars Aishwarya Lakshmi as the leading lady.

Subbaraj took to Twitter to welcome George on board. Subbaraj also revealed that actor Kalaiyarasan has been signed for another crucial role in the film which will be entirely shot in London.

Believed to be an action thriller with gangster elements, the film features Aishwarya Lekshmi as the leading lady. Earlier this month, the makers announced that they’ve roped in Games of Thrones and Braveheart (1995) actor James Cosmo for a pivotal role in the film. Karthik also welcomed James on Twitter.

If the grapevine is anything to go by, James will be seen playing the antagonist. It’s worth mentioning that Subbaraj had originally planned to rope in Al Pacino for the role. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get dates of the Scarface (1983) actor.

Last seen in the international film The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir (2019), Dhanush eagerly awaits the release of Vetrimaaran’s Asuran on 2 October. In Asuran (2019), based on the Tamil novel Vekkai, Dhanush will be essaying dual roles as father and son. The film also stars Manju Warrier who makes her Tamil cinema debut.

Dhanush also has Durai Senthil Kumar’s Pattas (2016) in the pipeline apart from a project each with directors Mari Selvaraj and Aanand L Rai.
