Ali Fazal has grabbed another Hollywood project after Victoria & Abdul (2017). After starring alongside Judi Dench in Stephen Frears film, he joins an all-star cast on Death On The Nile (2020) that includes Wonder Woman Gal Godot, Armie Hammer and Letitia Wright, also known as Shuri from Black Panther (2018).

The film is a modern-day adaptation of celebrated author Agatha Christie’s 1937 novel Death On The Nile, which is produced for the big screen by 20th Century Fox.

Reacting on the news, Fazal said in an official statement, “Yes, I am part of this wonderful journey and I look forward to being a part of it. My mother and I have always been huge fans of Agatha Christie novels.”

The film will be directed by Kenneth Branagh who returns as detective Hercule Poirot. He previously played the Belgian detective in Murder On The Orient Express (2017), another Christie novel which he also directed. Branagh has also directed Hamlet (1996), As You Like It (2006), Thor (2011), and Cinderella (2015).

Revealing the plot of the film, an official statement from the makers said, “It explores the investigation Hercule Poirot sets upon due to certain mysterious events that occur on a cruise ship on the Nile – a murder. As the investigation goes on and a handful of suspects come into question, several of the suspects also meet their demise, further deepening the mystery.”

The film is expected to go on floors later this month in London and other parts of Europe. Death On The Nile is due to be released on 20 December 2020.

Fazal will next be seen in Prassthanam (2019) which is due to be released on 20 September.
