When the song ‘Radhe Radhe’ from Raaj Shaandilyaa’s directorial debut film Dream Girl (2019) was released last month, we realized how much we had missed Ayushmann Khurrana shaking a leg to a fast dance track all these years. Now it turns out that Khurrana has another dance number in the film. This is the song ‘Gat Gat’, which has just been released.
To put it simply, 'Gat Gat' is like one of those typical Punjabi numbers played in nightclubs. The lyrics contain the same elements of liquor, praise for a woman's looks, mention of Bhangra and Giddha, etc. The setting suggests that this is a promotional number.
The music by Meet Bros has the feel one is accustomed to in songs of this genre. The song has been sung by Meet Bros, Jass Zaildar and Khushboo Grewal and they serve the purpose. But the tune and the song overall are good enough to be played in clubs and at parties.
Khurrana once again impresses us with his dance steps, proving that he possessed this skill along with acting and singing. Nushrat Bharucha, who is cast opposite him in the film, lends adequate support. The song also features Manjot Singh who plays Khurrana’s friend in the film.
