Prassthanam song 'Dil Dariyan': Ali Fazal, Amyra Dastur grow closer in this dry, electronica love song

The duet has been sung by Deepali Sathe and Ankit Tiwari, who has also composed the number.

After the younger son, played by Satyajeet Dubey, lived it up in a dance bar with 'Dil Bevda', it's the turn of the older son (Ali Fazal) to hold attention in the latest song, 'Dil Dariyan', from Prassthanam (2019). And judging by the titles of both songs, they broadly etch the characters of the brothers.

In the visuals of 'Dil Dariyan', Fazal moves around town with Amyra Dastur. The song shows him falling in love with her, and she seems equally enamoured with him.

Ankit Tiwari, who sings the duet with Deepali Sathe, has scored the love song with an electronic beat that seems ahead of the action on screen. His vocals are fine but seem out of place with the rural Indian setting. It only seems in synch when Fazal and Dastur are celebrating Holi.

Anurag Bhomia provides the lyrics of the love story, but they seems pretty standard and straightforward. Overall, the song doesn't leave much of a lasting impression.

Prassthanam, directed by Deva Katta, is the Hindi remake of his 2010 Telugu hit of the same name. The drama, also starring Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Manisha Koirala, is due to be released on 20 September.
