Box office: War rages on to break Rs200 crore mark on Dusshera

The Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer saw a 35% growth from its Monday collections.

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's War (2019) continues to rage on at the box office. According to numbers from BoxOfficeIndia.com, the film managed to turn over Rs27.50 crore on Tuesday. The collection is a 35% increase from its Monday earnings, launching it into the Rs200 crore club.

The film earned Rs20.50 crore on Monday, adding to the Rs158.50 crore that it managed on its first weekend. The film's improved Tuesday collection is down to the Dussehra holiday, with the collections in mass pockets contributing majorly to the Rs27.50 crore. The seven-day total for the film now stands at an impressive Rs206.50 crore, and might see an increase till the next weekend.

This is the first film, for both Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, that has hit the Rs200 crore mark in the first week itself. If collections remain steady, as expected, it might prove to be an even more impressive film for the box office.

The collection is also the third highest first week total for any film behind the Hindi-dubbed Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017) and Sultan (2016).

The upcoming week will see The Sky Is Pink hit the theatres. While featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar, Shonali Bose's family drama might not pose the same threat to the popular Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff adventure.
