Housefull 4 song 'Shaitan Ka Saala': Akshay Kumar goes crazy in this fun, but monotonous song

Sohail Sen's composition takes life in Akshay Kumar's over-the-top performance, but the music has little to do with the fun.

If there was any doubt about bald pates becoming fashionable, despite Ayushmann Khurrana's insistence, Akshay Kumar puts it to rest.

As the lascivious, over-the-top Bala in Housefull 4, the actor seems to be on a high that cannot be matched. The latest song from the film 'Shaitan Ka Saala' might be monotonous, but Kumar brings to it all the theatrics of a rowdy comic on the street.

The song is set as an introduction to Bala, the ancient ruthless king played by Kumar's character in the past. From dancing alongside an entire chorus of pretty blonde women to twirling big balls of fire around his neck, the actor is the centerpiece of an extravagant comic spectacle that is the song. Even the choreography follows the ridiculous eye and hand movements.

Sohail Sen's music matches the beats and the rhythms of this extravagance. There is not much to elaborate in terms of orchestration, but the song plays on the lyrics of 'Bala/Shaitan Ka Saala', and goes on to add multiple adjectives to the character played by Kumar.

The monotonous rhythm and beats work as an introduction, but the song tapers into ordinariness. Vishal Dadlani has little to do with such limited lyrics. The lyrics themselves, by Farhad Samji, are another example of the ridiculousness that the song drives. Nevertheless, it adds to the fun element.

The song is also an official remake of the popular 2014 'Bala' song by Caribbean artist Tony Montana, which has already been used once before in Swapnil Joshi-starrer 'Bhikari (2017) by composer Vishal Mishra.

Housefull 4 is due to be released on 24 October. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
