There seems to be no stopping War (2019). The Siddharth Anand film, which pits Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff against each other, earned Rs21 crore on its third day, according to figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com. After earning Rs51.50 crore on Wednesday and Rs22.50 on Thursday, its collection so far has touched Rs95 crore.
The action film looks to dominate into the holiday weekend and the coming week with Dussehra on Tuesday. The film has been slightly affected by the ongoing Navratri celebrations in Gujarat, but has been boosted by Durga Puja festivities in West Bengal and Bihar.
With the weekend numbers likely to be higher, the film, made on a budget of around Rs150 crore, looks certain to hit the Rs150 crore mark by Sunday itself. Meanwhile, both Hrithik and Shroff are enjoying the highest opening of their careers.
Meanwhile, the Hollywood film Joker (2019), starring Joaquin Phoenix, earned Rs3.75 crore on Friday, taking its total collection to Rs12.25 crore nett. The comic-book film was released on less than 500 screens but has still managed to reel in decent numbers.
