The Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer War (2019) broke the opening day record on Wednesday by earning a huge amount of Rs51.50 crore nett. It helped that the film released on a public holiday, Gandhi Jayanti.
As yesterday was a working day, it was obvious that the film will have a fall in numbers. The Siddharth Anand film made Rs22.50 crore nett yesterday, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
This fall isn’t serious as earning this much on a normal working day is impressive. The grand total of War right now stands at Rs74 crore nett. According to BoxOfficeIndia.com, none of the previous films of actors Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff have reached this number, even in the first three days.
As per trade sources, War is made at a cost of Rs150-200 crore. Hence, the film needs to constantly keep its bar high till the last day of the weekend and hold it steady for the weekdays as well. The film’s business in the first extended weekend will determine its journey at the box office.
Meanwhile, Wednesday, 2 October, also saw the release of the Hollywood film Joker. Starring Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role, the film scored Rs5.75 crore nett and Rs3.75 crore nett on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
