If you have ever dreamt of watching David Lean's magnum opus Lawrence Of Arabia (1962) on the big screen, here's your chance! The upcoming 50th Indian Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa is screening the Lean masterpiece along with other Hollywood classics as part of its Oscar Retrospective section. Past winners of the Best Film category at the Academy awards will be shown.

These include Victor Fleming's Gone With The Wind (1939), Michael Curtiz's Casablanca (1942), William Wyler's The Best Years Of Our Lives (1946) and Ben-Hur (1959), Robert Wise's The Sound Of Music (1965), Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather (1972), Jonathan Demme's The Silence Of The Lambs (1991) and Robert Zemeckis's Forrest Gump (1994).

The last film, a Tom Hanks-starrer, is officially being remade in Hindi next year with actor Aamir Khan in the lead role. In the meantime, cinephiles can catch these originals playing on a big screen at the golden jubilee edition.

With over 200 films from 76 countries playing at the festival, IFFI will be held from 20 to 28 November in Panaji, Goa.
