Bohomaan trailer: Aparna Sen, Soumitra Chatterjee go down memory lane

The film is slated for release on 29 November.

After being seen in Suman Ghosh’s Bosu Poribar (2019) earlier this year, Aparna Sen and Soumitra Chatterjee are reunited once again for Anumita Dasgupta’s Bohomaan (2019). The film also features Bratya Basu and Arpita Chatterjee in crucial roles.

A story of two lovers, uniting after ages, Bohomaan has a lot of issues to touch upon. Madhuri (Sen) meets Salim Khan (Soumitra Chatterjee) after years, carrying the hurt of separation of many years. However, the union brings back colours of spring in their life. While Sen’s son Subrata (Bratya Basu) cannot accept his mother’s behaviour like that of a young lady in love, his partner, played by Joyeeta (Arpita Pal Chatterjee), is rather delighted to see the changes in Madhuri.

While Madhuri and Salim trace memories of their past rendezvous in the corners of Kolkata, Subrata gets increasingly irritated with the entire affair. Joyeeta rather tries to make the situation light for Subrata; however, eventually, the situation comes down to the acceptance of the son, as his mother wishes to settle down with her lover.

The complications between the two generations and the couple's attempt to come in terms with past, that is depicted in the trailer in monochrome, seem to be the crux of the story.

Bohomaan refers to the eternal journey, associated with time. Perhaps, at the end of the time film, time takes the decision for the lovers and their next generation as well.

In the trailer, Sohaag Sen seems to be working as the mediator between Madhuri and Salim. The trailer also brings out chemistry between lovers of two generations and also perhaps throws light on the idea of love perceived by the characters individually. Music plays an important role in the trailer, instigating elements of nostalgia, melancholia and deep emotions.

Bohomaan is slated for release on 29 November.
