Vikramaditya Motwane, Varun Grover, Vikram Chandra to talk Sacred Games at South Asian Literature and Art Festival

Author Vikram Chandra, scriptwriter Varun Grover and showrunner Vikramaditya Motwane will be attending the upcoming South Asian Literature and Art (SALA) Festival at the Montalvo Arts Center, Saratoga, California, from 6–13 October.

The second season of the popular Netflix web-series, co-directed by Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan, was recently nominated for an International Emmy in the Drama category.

Grover said in a statement, "Absolutely thrilled to be attending SALA this year. Am hoping to share my insights and process of writing Sacred Games and interacting with the fabulous and knowledgeable delegates of SALA."

Kashyap is also expected to speak at another special event by the organizers on 18 October. Actress, artist and poet Deepti Naval will also be in conversation with University of California, Berkeley, professor Harsha Ram.

On the final day, 13 October, the festival will close with two documentary films, GuruCOOL and Kaifinama. Indo-Canadian filmmaker Sangita Iyer's GuruCOOL examines Indian educators in the 21st century. The 32-minute English docu-short is produced by Mettle Films.

Sumantra Ghosal's Kaifinama, in Hindi and Urdu, is produced by Mijwan Welfare Society and is based on the life and art of Kaifi Azmi. This is the birth centenary of the Urdu progressive poet and film lyricist.
