Marjaavaan song 'Tum Hi Aana': Jubin Nautiyal sings of the loss of love in this slow melody

Composed by Payal Dev, the song has been penned by Kunaal Vermaa.

Sonal Pandya

In the first song for the action-heavy Marjaavaan (2019), Sidharth Malhotra's character laments of the loss of her love, played by Tara Sutaria. The song, 'Tum Hi Aana', Malhotra is wearing a prison uniform while dwelling on his past memories.

Jubin Nautiyal brings his signature smoothness to the slow romantic melody composed by Payal Dev. She keeps the music on a low tempo, giving focus to Nautiyal's vocals which is the requirement of the number. Dev choses appropriate instruments, from the flute to the sarangi, to tinge the number with sadness.

Kunaal Vermaa's lyrics brings the pathos to the track, in which Malhotra seems to be asking Sutaria's character who is dead to return. The picturisation of the track feels like a throwback to the film plots of the 1990s, and Malhotra's fate in the beginning of the song, reminds us of Salman Khan in Tere Naam (2003).

Marjaavaan is due to be released on 8 November. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
