Akshay Kumar reveals his inner goddess in new still from Laxmmi Bomb

The actor has donned a sari as he plays a transgender person for the first time in his career.

Akshay Kumar is tapping into his feminine self this Navratri. The actor shared a still from his upcoming film, Laxmmi Bomb (2020), where he wears a sari. 

Writing about his new look, Akshay Kumar described himself as 'both excited and nervous'. He wrote, "Navratri is about bowing to the inner goddess and celebrating your limitless strength. On this auspicious occasion, I am sharing with you my look as Laxmmi..." 

Wearing a red sari, a bright red bindi, and his wig tied up in a bun, the actor looks quite ferocious in the still. With the goddess Durga providing a backdrop, the image takes on a more ferocious turn. 

Written and directed by Raghava Lawrence, Laxmmi Bomb will see Akshay Kumar play a cowardly man whose body is taken over by the spirit of a transgender ghost, Laxmmi. 

The film, a remake of the Tamil horror-comedy, Muni 2: Kanchana (2011), is due to be released on 5 June 2020. Alongside Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani will also star in the film.

Akshay Kumar is currently preparing for the release of Housefull 4 (2019) as well as Good Newwz (2019) alongside Diljit Dosanjh, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon.
