Housefull 4 (2019) had made a good Rs50 crore nett till Sunday, 27 October. The numbers went into overdrive yesterday as the film collected Rs34.25 crore nett on the day, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com. Owing to the national holiday, all Diwali releases saw a significant gain.

With this spurt, the multi-starrer comedy Housefull 4 has earned a total of Rs85 crore nett so far. As per our trade sources, the film was made at a cost of Rs160–170 crore. Hence, it has a long way to go yet before it can be considered a safe bet for its makers.

Interestingly, Housefull 4, which stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Bobby Deol, has been getting negative feedback from critics and audiences alike. But that does not seem to have had much effect on its box-office numbers at least as yet.

Made In China (2019) also gained yesterday as it made Rs2.75 crore nett, taking its overall total to Rs6.50 crore nett. Saand Ki Aankh (2019) saw en even bigger jump yesterday, collecting Rs3.35 crore nett against its Sunday collection of just Rs95 lakh. The film starring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar has received the most positive reactions of all the three Diwali releases this year.

Both Made In China and Saand Ki Aankh were made on a budget of around Rs30 crore. Hence, both films will need to sustain audience interest for several more days to escape the 'flop' tag.
