The composition by Tanishk Bagchi is a remix of the original Himesh Reshammiya song from Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998).
Pagalpanti song 'Tum Par Hum Hain Atke': Mika Singh and Neha Kakkar's version lacks the melody of the original

Yet another remix arrives from the T-Series stable in 'Tum Par Hum Hain Atke' from Pagalpanti. Remixed by Tanishk Bagchi and sung by Mika Singh and Neha Kakkar, the song has the rhythm and catchy tune to get you going but is just not melodious enough to play on repeat.
With John Abraham and Ileana D'Cruz leading the way, the song is a return to the 1990s tradition of heroes and heroines dancing in iconic foreign locations. This time, John chooses to woo D'Cruz in front of the London Tower bridge. With a group of dancers dressed in monochrome, the couple get grooving to the lyrics of Sabbir Ahmed.
There is not much to say with reference to the choreography, but the song does have some positive points. Mika Singh's voice brings in energy to the composition. Neha Kakkar's voice also adds to the playfulness and chemistry. But the composition itself is a derivative of the original by Himesh Reshmmiya.
Tanishk Bagchi has gained a reputation through his remixes which are quite popular, but over time the composer seems to be sinking into a familiar style. The Pagalpanti version of 'Tum Par Hum Hain Atke' also has faster-paced percussion and a focus on rhythm. But it lacks the melody and harmony that caught the attention in the original and pales in comparison despite Mika Singh's energy.
Pagalpanti is directed by Anees Bazmee, and is set to be released on 22 November. Watch the new song and the original below and let us know if you are keen to watch Pagalpanti in the theatres.
