The sight of people huddled in terror, smoke from the esteemed towers of the Taj hotel in Mumbai, and two lone gunmen firing blindly at anyone passing are the stuff of nightmares for Mumbaikars.
They return in Anthony Maras's take on the attack in Hotel Mumbai (2019). Featuring Dev Patel, Anupam Kher and Armie Hammer, the film is set to release on 29 November in India.
While there were reports of the makers avoiding the film's release in India owing to the sensitivity of the subject, but they have finally managed a release date. The film releases three days after the anniversary of the deadly terror attack on Mumbai which took the lives of 174 people and left more than 300 wounded.
The new trailer for the film captures the fear, blatant apathy of the killers and the panic caused by the sudden assault. While the first trailer focused a little more on the personal lives of the people involved in the daily management of the Taj, the second trailer dives right into the day when the attacks happened.
It also focuses on the struggle of the guests, alongside the hotel management, to find a way past the terrorist. A way that resulted in several heroic sacrifices, irrespective of class, gender and religion. The trailer is far more dramatic, and action-driven, than the first version and quite attractive as well.
The film is presented by Zee Studios and Purpose Entertainment. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
