Kiara Advani starts shooting for Indoo Ki Jawani in Lucknow

Kiara Advani started shooting for her solo lead film Indoo Ki Jawani (2019) last week in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The film is a family entertainer which marks the Hindi film debut of Bengali filmmaker Abir Sengupta. 

In an official statement, the makers shared the plot of the film saying, “The film is a romantic comedy, also starring Aditya Seal, set in a small town where Kiara’s character is determined to find true love using an online dating app.” 

Advani’s popularity has increased immensely this year after the super success of Kabir Singh (2019), where Shahid Kapoor played the titular character. The makers have shared her still from the film where she is sitting pretty, quite literally. 

Sharing her excitement of starting the film, she said in an official statement, "I am super excited to begin shooting for Indoo. I have been prepping for the character ever since I signed the film and it’s finally time to live her! Indoo is a part of every young Indian girl. She’s endearing, lovable and quirky.” 

The film marks the sixth collaboration between T-Series and Emmay Entertainment, after Airlift (2016), Satyameva Jayate (2018), Batla House (2019), Marjaavaan (2019), Satyameva Jayate 2 (2020). In Indoo Ki Jawani, the banner Electric Apples also marks their debut as producers.
