Abhimanyu Mukherjee’s upcoming film Teko (2019) featuring Ritwick Chakraborty and Srabanti Chatterjee together for the first time. The comedy film goes up against two other Hindi films on the issues of hair loss and baldness, Bala (2019) and Ujda Chaman (2019), which are also hitting the screens in next month.

The funny trailer begins with introducing Alokesh’s (Chakraborty) passion for long hair and beautiful hairstyles. Alokesh takes selfie with ladies with long hair and also advises his mother to look for a bride with beautiful hair for him. He insists that his bride should not only love him but adore his hair too.

Alokesh doesn’t think twice when his mother shows him photos of Mina (Chatterjee), because she has got long and beautiful hair. To Alokesh’s delight, Mina too connects with Alokesh’s fascination and they both bond over their love for hair.

However, the twist in the characters’ life as well as in Alokesh and Mina’s relationship takes place, when Alokesh buys an oil for hair growth but begins to lose hair rapidly, instead. Mina, too, is shocked to see this transformation and soon she drops the idea of marriage with Alokesh.

However, Alokesh doesn’t take the issue lightly and decides to try every means sue the company for ruining his hair and getting his lady love back.

The trailer suggests that the film is thoroughly entertaining and there are punchlines which suggest how obsessed Alokesh is with hair. The obsession turns the entire approach of the content funnier.

However, there are also a few sequences, in which other people are seen to be trusting various cosmetic products to maintain an image set by the society and getting duped. These sequences suggest that the film has more to convey and criticise various norms set by the society beyond serving its purpose to entertain the audience.

Teko is slated for release on 22 November. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
