We get our first proper look at Dharma Productions' Drive (2019) which has been gestating for around two years now. The action film, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, revolves around a heist at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Jacqueline Fernandez is a street racer and con artist who meets and recruits Sushant Singh Rajput's Formula 1 racer for the job.
What they are preparing to steal is unknown, but it likely involves plenty of artefacts. Boman Irani and Pankaj Tripathi are the men tasked with evading the heist and protecting Rashtrapati Bhavan. Fernandez and her crew seemingly pull off the heist in a striking red sports car. Whatever happened to the virtues of lying low on such a job? It certainly never seems to have occurred to these guys.
Mansukhani's film lacks the thrills and skills of Hollywood's The Fast And The Furious series or even our own Dhoom franchise, which Drive borrows references from. Downgrading the film to an online only release, Drive will be streamed on Netflix from 1 November. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
