Marjaavaan song ‘Thodi Jagah’: Arijit Singh’s beautiful rendition about passionate love

The song is marred by the visuals of Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria.

Singer Arijit Singh has become so seasoned in crooning slow and emotional romantic songs that you can easily predict his good work in a new track before even listening to it. It is like giving a friendly full-toss delivery to a set batsman.

The same is the case with ‘Thodi Jagah’ from Milap Milan Zaveri’s Marjaavaan (2019). Singh has once again succeeded in portraying a lover’s pain, anguish as well as passion towards the love of his life through Rashmi Singh and Virag Mishra’s deep and moving poetry in the lyrics.

Tanishk Bagchi, who is famous [read: infamous] for delivering a long list of remix tracks, has added pleasurable tunes in this original number here. The music remains with you much after you have listened to the song.

There are films where good songs don’t create the desired effect because of the visuals. ‘Thodi Jagah’ is one such song thats would make you happy only if you listen to the audio. The anguish expressed by Sidharth Malhotra and the sadness of Tara Sutaria are both uninteresting and unappealing. It seems like they have overacted in making the audience feel for the couple.

And if this wasn’t enough, there are silly dialogues like, “Zoya, hum gutter mein pale hain, gutter mein hi jeeyenge aur gutter mein hi marenge![I was brought up in a gutter, will live and die there too!]”

Marjaavaan will be released on 15 November. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
