As expected, filmmaker Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink (2019) has had a poor first week. Starring Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim, the film had made only Rs10.50 crore nett in its opening weekend. The low opening coupled by the fact that the film is aimed only at urban audiences, its chances appeared bleak from the start.

The Sky Is Pink had the usual drop from Monday onwards and the film’s first week figures currently stand at Rs15.40 crore nett, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

As per trade sources, the film is made at a budget of Rs25-30 crore nett. Its chances don't appear bright to surpass that despite no major Hindi film being released today. Although today’s major release Laal Kaptaan (2019) stars Saif Ali Khan, the film’s promotion and marketing has been minimal.

On the other hand, the Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shoff-starrer War (2019) continued its successful run even in its second weekend where it made Rs46 crore nett. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film has so far earned a mammoth Rs272.50 crore nett so far and is still playing in a lot of theatres.

War is now all set to overtake Kabir Singh (2019) as the highest grosser of the year. The Shahid Kapoor-starrer made a lifetime business of Rs276.34 crore nett.

Meanwhile, the Hollywood film Joker also had a good second week as it made Rs17.50 crore nett, taking its overall total in India to Rs55.15 crore nett.
